Workshops for Authorities
The pace of change in the global economy is now growing so rapidly that it requires most organizations to understand the relevance for training and workshop programmes to gain and keep a competitive advantage. The increasing quantity of counterfeit commodities proliferating in the markets thus necessitates the need to upgrade the level of skills of the Examiners, Inspectors and other authorized personnel entrusted with the task of differentiating between the original and counterfeit products by their participation in training programmes and training workshops.
A Memorandum of Understanding (“MOU”) entered into between the Saudi Customs and KAD solidified a healthy working partnership. The Saudi Customs has strengthened their cooperation with the private sector in combating commercial fraud and counterfeiting, and Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) protection through the wider participation of trademark owners or their authorized representatives to provide technical consultation.
KAD had also endeavored to train, educate and guide, by way of conducting seminars and workshops, for the high-level officials of the ACFD of the MOCI, and related government agencies involved in Intellectual Property protection. In those trainings and seminars, KAD had imparted upon the officials and experience of international companies and brand owners in distinguishing between genuine/original and, counterfeit/fake goods/products.
